VIOLET ELIZABETH SWENBY

Violet E. Swenby, age 92 of Glenwood City, WI, formerly of Boyceville and Connorsville died late Monday, July 10, 2017, at the Glenhaven Care Center in Glenwood City, WI.

Violet Elizabeth Swenby was born on August 20, 1924 in New Haven Township, Dunn County, WI the daughter of Arthur & Sarah (Ryder) Lee. She moved with her family at the age of five years old to Downing, WI, where she grew up and graduated from high school there. On February 2, 1944, Violet was married to Robert B. Swenby in Menomonie, WI. Together they farmed in Connorsville for many years and raised three children; Cathy, Rodney and Kevin. After Robert’s death in 1990, Violet continued to live in Connorsville until 2008 when she moved to Boyceville. She had been a resident of Glenhaven in Glenwood City for the past three years. 

Violet is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Swenby; son, Kevin Swenby; three brothers: Richard, Jim and Arnold Lee; and sisters: Inez Brophey and Blanche Nelson.

Violet is survived by her daughter and son Rodney (Mary) Swenby – Downing, WI and Cathy (Dan) Stayberg – Hastings, MN; grandchildren Ryan Swenby, Shanna (Danny) Knops, Brad Stayberg and Greg Stayberg; great-granchildren Robert “RJ” Swenby and Sawyer Swenby.

A funeral service will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church in Boyceville, WI on Saturday, July 15, 2017 at 11 a.m. Pastor Loren Barker will officiate and music will be performed by Ginny Waller. Casketbearers will be Ryan Swenby, Shanna Knops, Danny Knops, Brad Stayberg, Greg Stayberg, and Steve Moe.

Interment will be at Grace Lutheran Cemetery in Connorsville, WI.
