Improvements at Pafko Park Ball field approved

BOYCEVILLE — The Village board approved improvements at Pafko Park ball field which will provide a new playing surface for the outfield.

John Hellmann reported to the board that the present outfield, playing surface is rough and unsafe.

He noted that bids from two local firms, Gary Cormican Excavating and R&B Landscaping were obtained to improve the field.

Cormican will bring in new topsoil and grade the field from the infield to the fence line and R&B will mat, seed and fertilize the field.

Don Rose, the village’s Public Works head informed the board that the village crew would be responsible for the watering needs of the new grass.

The board approved the $15,575 total cost.
