BERNICE FAYE “COCIE” CASSELLIUS
Bernice Faye “Cocie” Cassellius, age 92, of Glenwood City, WI died Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at the Western Wisconsin Health in Baldwin, WI.
Cocie was born October 26, 1924 at home in Hersey, WI to Frank and Abigail (Harris) Colburn. She married Earl Cassellius on November 7, 1942 at St. John’s Catholic Church in Glenwood City, WI. They farmed in the Glenwood City area until moving to Boyceville, WI in 1959. Cocie worked a few part time jobs until starting at Sandy Lee’s Sewing Center when it opened and worked there until its closing. She also worked at the Boyceville Senior Center until retiring. She later moved back to Glenwood City in 2011. Her family was her pride and joy. She loved to sew, cook, bake and go to the grandchildrens’ school events. She also enjoyed fishing, playing cards, bingo and the occassional casino trips.
Cocie is preceded in death by her parents; husband; four brothers: Donald, Everett, Fredrick and Jack Colburn; eight sisters: Celia Wilk, Margaret McGee, Ruby Bauer, Dorothy Schillinger, Frances VonBehren, Violet Schrieber, and Virginia Langrehr.
Cocie is survived by son and daughter Linda (Ron) Talmage of White Bear Lake, MN and John (Joan) Cassellius of Boyceville, WI; Six grandchildren: Philip (Julie) Talmage, Jennifer (Kelly) Lagerstrom, Katie Meiers, John (Emily) Cassellius Jr., Jeff (Katie) Cassellius and Jeremy (Angie) Cassellius; 14 great-grandchildren: Derek & Joseph Talmage, Falicia (Shane) Wizykoski, Tucker & Natasha Lagerstrom, Isabelle & Alexandra Meiers, Bryan & Mollie Cassellius, Gavin, Owen & Riley Cassellius, Eli & Jordy Cassellius; two great-great grandchildren Easton & Emmit Wizykoski; sisters-in-law Betty and Jeanette Colburn; and special friend Donald Munkwitz. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 20, 2017 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Glenwood City, WI with Father John Long as celebrant. Burial will be in the Mound Cemetery Downing, WI. Friends may call at the Anderson Funeral Home in Glenwood City on Monday, June 19, 2017 from 5 to 7 p.m. and one hour prior to services Tuesday at the church.
