CHARLEEN L. LARSON
Charleen Lorraine (Schutts) Larson age 79, of Boyceville, WI passed away Saturday, June 10, 2017 on her home farm in Boyceville, WI.
Charleen was born November 3, 1937 in Menomonie Wisconsin to Leonard and Lorraine (Blake) Schutts. She was baptized and confirmed at Peace Lutheran Church in Menomonie WI. Charleen along with three other siblings; Donald, Dolores and Dewey (all under the age of 17) grew up and ran the family farm after her parents and younger sister passed away.
Char was a teacher, not only in schools, but a teacher of all things of life. She graduated Boyceville High School in 1955 and went on to college receiving a teaching degree and honors. She was president of the Teachers Association. After graduation, she taught full time at Little Elk Creek and Tramway schools.
Charleen married Gerald “Charlie” Larson on December 26, 1959 at Peace Lutheran church in Menomonie Wisconsin. Together they raised four children on the family dairy farm. Char continued to teach by substitute teaching until May 2017.
She was a very hard working dedicated Christian. She raised her children with great values and strengths. Her prayers (The Lord’s Prayer) along with saying Jesus Loves Me and naming her children were a nightly ritual.
Char loved her children and grandchildren deeply and attended all of their games turning down multiple requests to head down south for the winter months. She also loved crocheting, flower and vegetable gardens, usually donating most of her fruits of labor.
Char was an avid softball player, playing in Connorsville with her daughters. She also loved spending time at the cabins up north, floating down the river, and pontooning, inviting everyone to come join the fun! To get around the 200 acre Larson farm she would jump on her yellow ATV.
Afghans, doilies, quilts, hats, molasses cookies, jello eggs to name a few things that we will cherish forever that have been touched with love from “Grandma”.
We will always Love You and Never forget the Love you brought to our family.

Charleen is survived by, son, Daniel (Melissa) Larson and their children, Juliana, Matt, Noah, Amanda, Laura, Ryan; son, Jerry (Jana) Larson and their children, Jeremy, Megan, Morgan, Jacque; daughter, Jody (Robert) Rathke and their children, Brandon, Ashley, Brady; daughter, Sherry Leach and her children, Matthew, Mitchell, Melissa, Lacey, Dustin. She is also survived by brothers and sisters in law, nieces and nephews.
She preceded in death by her husband, Gerald “Charlie” Larson, her parents Leonard and Lorraine (Blake) Schutts, brothers Donald and Dewey Schutts; sisters, Delores Schultz and Karen Schutts; an infant brother Gerald and granddaughter Kayla Leach, also in-laws Sam and Ruby Larson, brothers and sisters in law, nieces and nephews.
Charleen’s family would like to thank eight floor Sacred Heart nurses, hospice, Dr. Tana, Olson Funeral Home and everyone who touched her life, for their loving care.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 17, 2017 at Christ Lutheran Church in Menomonie with Pastor David Natzke officiating. There will be visitation from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday at Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie and at the church one hour prior to the service on Saturday. Burial will be in Tramway Cemetery in the Town of Menomonie, Dunn Co. WI.
