CONSTANCE O. (MUTH) LYSTROM
Constance O. Lystrom Nee Muth, age 82 of Boyceville, WI died Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at Mayo Clinic Health Systems in Eau Claire, WI.
Connie was born December 6, 1934 in Minneapolis, MN to Herbert and Agnes (Kjono) Muth. She was baptized on January 9, 1935 and confirmed May 24, 1949 at Harmar Lutheran Church in Rothsay, MN.
She lived with her parents and siblings on a farm near Rothsay, MN where she attended grade school in a country school called District 28. Connie graduated high school in 1952 and earned her LPN from Bethesda Hospital School of Practical Nursing in Crookston, MN.
Connie met Richard Lystrom while training and they married in 1954. They moved to Morris, MN where she worked at Stevens County Memorial and later at Rice Memorial in Wilmar, MN.
In 1956 they moved to Boyceville, WI where she worked at the Limberg Clinic until finding her forever job of 44 years at the hospital in Menomonie, WI, now known as Mayo Health Systems Red Cedar. In 1983, she returned back to school and graduated with honors from the accelerated Associated Degree RN program at the Chippewa Valley Technical College.
Her family was always important to her. She was a wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother; and she was proud of their accomplishment. She was a good cook, seamstress and loved to see the yard and house in order.
Connie loved her work and never felt it was a job, she was honored for her service at the Red Cedar Medical Center and for her years of employment. She always hoped she made a difference. After retiring she was active with the Red Cedar Volunteers, serving as president in 2011.
Connie was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Boyceville, WI where she was active in many aspects of the life of the church. Her passion was missions and she would gather items for the Lutheran World Relief and global missions.
Connie is preceded in death by her parents, husband Richard, in laws George and Clara Lystrom, son Todd Lystrom, brother LeRoy Muth, sister Darlene Toso, nephew Jayson Muth and brother and sister in law Walt and Delores Lystrom.
Connie is survived by children: Timothy (Shelly) Lystrom, Carmen Lystrom and Anthony (Michelle) Lystrom. Grandchildren: Kayce (Mike) Dubuque, Clara Lystrom, Rita Lystrom, Shaina Lystrom – Braker, Molly Lystrom, and step grandson Christopher Burgess. Great Grandchildren: Nora Kitchner, Elora Myer, Avalon Myer and Riggs Hegeman, brother in law Don Toso. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, honorary son Jorge Oliva and friends.
Memorial services were held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, April 24, 2017 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Boyceville, WI with Reverend Bradley Peterson officiating. Interment of cremains was in the Tiffany Cemetery Boyceville, WI. Friends were able to call at the church on Monday from 10:30 a.m. until service. Local arrangements handled by Anderson Funeral Home in Glenwood City, WI.
