TOWN OF TIFFANY — A fire Sunday evening caused extensive damage to a Town of Tiffany house.
The Boyceville Fire department received a call for a structure fire in the Town of Tiffany around 9:40 p.m. Sunday, April 9.
When firefighters arrived on the scene, they found the second story of a rental home on the John Zurn property, E1621 County Road N in Tiffany Township, engulfed in flames.
Boycveille began to battle the blaze and quickly called for assistance from fire departments in Glenwood City, Colfax and Menomonie to assist in getting the fire under control.
Firefighters were on the scene for over two hours and were able to contain much of the damage to the second floor of the structure.
Boyceville Fire Chief Brian Marlette told the Tribune Press Reporter Tuesday afternoon, April 11, that the upper floor had extensive damage and that there was some water damage to the main floor of the structure.
As for a cause, Marlette noted that it was likely from a lightning strike from the strom that was passing through the area at that time.
No injuries were reported.
The names of the occupants, if any, or losses incurred were not released.
