Beverly was born September 8, 1929 to Mildred Jackson and John Thompson in Litchfield, Minnesota and died February 26, 2017 after an eight month at Our House in New Richmond, Wisconsin.

After attending New Richmond and Somerset schools she married Philias Severe Carufel in 1950 and had three children: Paula, Robert, and Gerard. They divorced after several years of marriage and in 1969 Beverly married Louis James Hooser.

Beverly worked at Minnesota Mining and Manufacturing (3M) before settling into a long career at Holy Family Hospital in New Richmond, WI as a nurse’s aide and a physical therapy aide. When this career came to an end she opened Nanie’s Daycare where she cared for her grandchildren and others.

Beverly was a passionate gardener and a lifelong learner. She took many courses and even earned her EMT certification. She was also actively involved in her church in many capacities.

Beverly was preceded in death by her parents, stepfather Paul Stoner, baby brother, aunts, and uncles. She is survived by her husband Louis Hooser; children: daughter Paula Brandt, son Robert Carufel, and son Gerard (Sandra) Carufel; sister Lois Martell; and brothers Gaylord (Frances) Stoner and Donald (Caroline) Stoner. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Justin Brandt, Amanda Brandt, Rebecca (Wade) Larson, Thomas Brandt, Rachel Brandt, Christina (Shane) Rucks, Ryan (Shanon) Carufel, Jeremy Carufel, and Shannon Carufel; great-grandchildren: Alice Larson, Lucille Larson, Adam Carufel, Nick Carufel, Jacob Carufel, Jordan Carufel, and Eric Carufel; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, February 28 at 1:00 p.m. at the Anderson Funeral Home in Glenwood City, WI. Burial was in the Greenwood Cemetery, Emerald, WI.
