Clarice Rose Shackleton, age 86 of Knapp, Wisconsin, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on February 9, 2017. She was at home surrounded by her daughters.

She was born in Cornell, Wisconsin on August 26, 1930 to Frank and Nancy (Grinder) Pinker. 

Clarice married Robert Shackleton in Vancouver, Washington on June 12, 1948. Bob and Clarice moved back to the Midwest living in the Twin Cities for a short time, where they made many lifelong friends, before settling in the Knapp area where they lived the rest of their 64 years together. While in the Knapp area, Bob and Clarice owned and operated the Knapp Auto Salvage and a construction company which later became the lumber yard, Shackleton Building and Supply. 

Clarice was known by all as “Robert’s wife” but quickly became more to everyone who met her. Her hospitality was what she will always be remembered for. Her door was always open with cookies or pie on the table for unexpected visitors. Everyone left a friend. 

Clarice was involved in the Gideon’s Women’s Auxiliary. She was also a very active member at Calvary Assembly of God in Wilson. 

Clarice is survived by and will be missed by her six daughters; Joan (Carl-Skip) Anderson of Wilson, Nancy (Bob) James of Knapp, Roberta (Ken) Windsor of Knapp, Deborah (Mike) Platt of Knapp, Sharon (Duane) Cormican of Knapp and Barbara (Gary) Cormican of Downing; her 12 grandchildren; 30 Great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother Gary (Susan) Pinker of Thailand as well as many nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. 

She was preceded in death by her husband Robert, her mother Nancy, her father Frank, and her step-mother Anna. She was also preceded in death by her sisters; Bernadine, Leona Josephine and Virginia, brothers; Francis George and Robert Henry. 

A celebration of Clarice and Roberts’s reunion in Heaven was held at 11:00 a.m., Valentine’s Day, February 14, 2017 at Calvary Assembly of God Church, Wilson, Wisconsin. (2988 60th Avenue, at the corner of Hwy 128 and 60th Ave.)

Visitation was held on Monday, February 13, 2017 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Olson Funeral Home and also one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial took place at Forest Hill Cemetery, Knapp Wisconsin. Olson Funeral Home of Menomonie is serving the family.
