CURTISS L. KNUTSON

Curtiss L. Knutson, 87, passed away the 20th of December, 2016, at Colfax Health and Rehabilitation Center in Colfax, WI.

He was born on June 2, 1929, a son to Henry and Anna (Lee) in Barron, WI, but lived most of his life in Colfax.

Curtiss grew up on the family farm, which he worked with his father for many years. Curt eventually bought the farm from his parents. Farming was his chosen profession and he was happy that he was able to spend his life doing work that he enjoyed. He also took pride in his contributions as a Board member for the Colfax Area Nursing Home and to the formation of the Colfax Golf Course as well as his service to the Holden Lutheran Church.

Curt married Marion Gotliebson Steinkraus in October of 1975. They enjoyed their honeymoon and many anniversary trips to Las Vegas. They also enjoyed traveling to North Carolina for the Gotliebson “sibs” reunions and numerous bowling weekends with friends.  Each year, they looked forward to the Knutson family reunion.

Curt is survived by his wife, Marion; his stepchildren, Bev Christianson of Eau Claire, WI, David (Uni) Steinkraus of Bloomer, WI, and Gloria (Kirk) Kwallek of Chetek, WI; his granddaughters, Sadra (Josh) Isaacs, Abra Christianson, and Samantha Steinkraus; grandsons, Ryan (Lindsay) Corder and Jeremy Corder; his great-grandson Thorin Isaacs; sister, Arlene Lund; sisters-in-law, Ardella Knutson and Pat Knutson; and many nieces and nephews.

Curtiss was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Alton, Morgan, Malcolm, Wallace, Julian, and Leroy.

Funeral Services were held on Friday, December 23, 2016, at Sampson Funeral Home, Colfax, WI, with Pastor Bob Schoenknecht officiating. Visitation was held prior to services. Burial took place in Holden Lutheran Cemetery, Colfax, WI.
