Christmas Eve 2016

a poem by Jerry Sutliff

Santa was running way behind time

So he grabbed the sack from off the floor,

Kissed Mrs. Claus goodbye

Then turned and ran out the door.

Harnessed all the Reindeer

Then hitched them up to the sleigh,

Grabbed the reins then gave a shout

And they were soon on the way.

In a flash the North Pole

Was left in the distance far behind,

Delivering all the presents

Was the only thing on Santa’s mind.

When he arrived at the first house

Santa reached in the sack for the toys,

He would decide to leave

For the good little girls and boys.

But he found that in his rush

A major mistake had been made,

He had grabbed the sack of

Mrs. Claus’ dirty laundry by mistake.
