FERN H. (COOK) BLODGETT

Fern H. (Cook) Blodgett, age 92, entered Heaven’s gates on December 1, 2016.  She died peacefully at Galena Stauss Senior Care Community in Galena, IL with her daughter, Carol, by her side.

Fern suffered from Alzheimer’s and moved to Galena to be closer to her daughter in 2010.

Prior to moving to Galena, Fern lived in Boyceville, WI. She was an active member of Reeve Evangelical Free Church and enjoyed singing in the church choir. She also loved to garden, sketch, paint and write poetry. She is remembered as a wonderful and loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Fern is survived by her daughter, Carol Frank, of Galena, IL; granddaughter Chris (Christopher) and daughter Alise of Edina, MN; granddaughter Terry (Gary) and daughter Madisen of Princeton, MN. She is also survived by her brother, Wayne Cook, of Lakeville, MN; her sister-in-law, Lorraine Blodgett, of Boyceville, WI; and many nieces and nephews. Fern is preceded in death by her loving husband, Ray, her parents, sister and two brothers.

A celebration of Fern’s life will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, December 17, 2016 at Anderson Funeral Home, 607 1st St, Glenwood City, WI 54013. Visitation will be one hour prior. Following the service, a light lunch will be served at Downing Community Center.
