Patricia Louise (Lanthier) Hansen
05/25/1929 – 11/17/22016
Patricia L. Hansen of Glenwood City, Wisconsin passed away on November 17, 2016 at 87 years of age at Glenhaven Nursing Home.
Pat was born on May 25, 1929 in Duluth, Minnesota, the 10th of 12 children born to Ernest Joseph, and Olivia (Dalby) Lanthier. She graduated from Cotton high school in 1947 and on April 1, 1950 was married to Raymond W. Hansen. To this union 3 daughters were born, Katherine, Karen, and Kristie. The family traveled to many areas on the nation, (California, Indiana, and Minnesota) to pursue Ray’s employment in the dairy industry. They moved to Clear Lake in 1961, and their children grew up in the community. Pat become very involved in volunteer work through those years, at Golden age Manor, her church and community. Upon leaving the Clear Lake area in 1975, they moved to Duluth, and later to Dawson, Minnesota, where she did volunteer work as an Ombudsman for the nursing homes in the area. Upon retirement, she and Ray moved to the Amery area. Her marriage ended in divorce, she remained in the Amery area, and again became involved in volunteer work for her church, through the Stephen ministries, Northern Lakes Center for the Arts, and Golden Age Manor. Always an avid reader, Pat began writing her own short stories and poems as she recalled rural family life in the 1930-40’s in northern Minnesota. She took pride in her work being printed in the Northern Lakes Soundings, and also her granddaughter Alissa’s success as a writer. She enjoyed emailing/calls to her grandchildren, daughters, computer card games, bird watching, music, long walks, and cooking, especially her popular tart fruit pies she brought to all family gatherings. She moved to Woodville, lived in Park Place assisted apartments for three years. She moved to Glenhaven Nursing Home after an illness in May 2015, and she loved the activities, the friendly staff (gave lots of smiles/laughter and hugs) and made many friends.
