DCAREA supports the Community Foundation of Dunn County

At a recent DCAREA meeting, Georgina Tegart, Executive Director, The Community Foundation of Dunn County, presented the numerous opportunities available within The Community Foundation of Dunn County to support organizations and citizens in Dunn County.

As retired Dunn County educators, DCAREA members chose to support additional funding for education in Dunn County via The Community Foundation’s “mini-teacher grant” program with an over $350 donation. DCAREA is part of the Wisconsin Retired Educators’ Association (WREA) with over 13,000 members representing the interests of retired public educators. From January 1, 2015 to October 31, 2016, DCAREA contributed over $1580 to local charities such as Stepping Stones, The Community Foundation of Dunn County, Wildlife R&R, Horse Refuge Farm, and Dunn County Humane Society. DCAREA also contributed supplies to Stepping Stones, Dunn County Humane Society, and Back-To-School projects during this time.

The next DCAREA meeting will be Monday, November 14th, 12:00 Noon, at the Menomonie Moose Lodge. The featured speaker will be Diane Wilcenski, Executive Director, WREA. All retired educators are very welcome. For further information, please contact Tom Slupe, President, at 715.235.4183.
