Arline Theresa Duckworth, 93, passed away April 17 at IU Health Goshen Hospital in Indiana with her family by her side. She chose to donate her body to IU School of Medicine.

Arline was born to Rudolph and Ragna (Tiller) Nelson July 14, 1922, in Colfax, Wisconsin.

She moved to Hollywood after graduating high school where she met Robert C. Duckworth, whom she married in 1945. He preceded her in death in 1995.

The most important things in Arline’s life were her faith, family and the Cubs. She was a devoted Christian who was always strengthening her relationship with God. She attended Maple City Chapel for many years and enjoyed attending the Prayer Ministry. She also loved spending time with her close-knit family. She enjoyed going to the movie theater with her daughter, although they didn’t always agree on what to see. Being near her grandsons and watching them and her great-grandson grow up was a special joy she treasured. She was also a huge baseball fan. She really thought this year was going to be the Cubs’ year.

Arline is survived by her son, Robert N. Duckworth of Kaneohe, Hawaii; daughter, Teresa Duckworth of Goshen, Indiana; grandchildren Hudson Chupp of Mishawaka and Sawyer (Witney) Chupp of Elkhart; and great-grandson Atlas Chupp. She is also survived by her brother, Ralph (Ruth) Nelson of Minneapolis, Minnesota.

A memorial service was held April 24 at Maple City Chapel in Goshen.
