Jerry Stoner has resigned as chairman for Tiffany township. Chuck Siler, previously the First Supervisor of Tiffany, was appointed as the new Township Chairman.
Ray Heutmaker will celebrate his 100th birthday on August 14.
On August 5, 20065 at 11:41 a.m. the Dunn County Sheriff’s Dept., Boyceville Fire Dept., and Boyceville Ambulance were dispatched to a plane crash at the Boyceville Airport. Minor injuries were reported.
Vivian and Larry Hanestad will be the Boyceville Cucumber Grand Marshals during the Cucumber Fest August 18-20.

New street light banners were recently installed on Glenwood City’s Main Street to welcome our visitors. They were provided by the Glenwood City Chamber of Commerce.
The manager of the Emerald Farmers Exchange in Emerald, Roger Smith, 64, was pronounced dead at the feed mill Monday morning where he collapsed after entering a tank used to store molasses.
Craig Conklin announced at the Boyceville School Board meeting that he intends to run for a seat on the Wisconsin Association of School Board’s (WASB) Region 4 Board of Directors. He was unanimously approved by the Boyceville School Board.

Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Brandt held a grand opening of their clothing store in Emerald last Friday. They are handling a line of new and used clothing and are located in the building directly across the street from Cliff’s Standard Service Station.
Cliff’s Standard Service Station in Emerald has just finished the construction of an addition to the south side of the building. This will provide the second stall in which to service cars. A new concrete driveway and new gas pumps are also installed in the station.
The dedication of the new $725,000 St. Croix County courthouse in Hudson will be Saturday, October 1 at 2 p.m.

The valuation of Joint School District No. 1, Glenwood City, increased slightly during the past year. The present value is $3,673,400.
Dale Bolin, 20, Cumberland gas station attendant, died at the Memorial hospital, Menomonie, late Sunday afternoon as a result of injuries received in a seven-car collision at the Boyceville speedway a few hours earlier. The accident happened before an estimated crowd of 2,500 attending the races Sunday afternoon.
Fire of undetermined origin did considerable damage to the garage of Bill Krosnoski. The fire was discovered about 7 in the evening and burned through into the wall. Heavy smoke seeped into the house making access possible only with the use of gas masks.

About 65 voters attended the annual school meeting of the joint District No. 1 held Monday evening. A levy of $17,000.00 was voted to meet current expenses with an additional levy of $5,000.00 to clean up the debt on improvements. A resolution to borrow a sum not exceeding $4,000.00 to install plumbing was also adopted.
S. E. Lindefield came from St. Paul Monday to attend the transfer of the lease of his business building from W. Gonderzik to P. L. Wilhelm, of Amery, who has bought Mr. Gonderzik’s mercantile business and taken possession.
P. C. has taken up quarters in the building corner of First and Maple streets formerly occupied by the Glenwood City Cash Produce Co. Dr. W. H. Park, the owner, has had the building repaired and repainted.
A. C. Payne will take care of all orders for sign painting, which the Ward Hardware company will make a feature of their business, and a line in which Mr. Payne’s ability is well known locally.

Boyceville’s Community Fire and Ambulance services look like they will finish strongly in the black, according to Herb Dow village fire chief at the mid-year meeting August 20. Projections show the fire department ahead $6,170 and the ambulance $6,975.
Work on Boyceville’s new wastewater treatment plant began about a month ago and according to Herb Dow, village engineer, everything has been going as scheduled.
Heidi Evenson, 15, of Stevens Point was killed and her mother and brother were injured at 11:18 a.m. August 18 in a car-train accident in Boyceville.
