BOYCEVILLE – On August 1, 2016 and August 2, 2016, Boyceville Police Department received numerous complaints of counterfeit $20 bills being passed to businesses in Boyceville. An investigation was initiated and a search warrant for a subject who resides in the Village of Boyceville was obtained. On August 4, 2016, Boyceville PD with the assistance of officers and deputies from the Dunn County Sheriff’s Office and Menomonie PD executed the search warrant. One subject was taken into custody, transported to the Dunn County Jail, and charged with multiple counts of forgery. Evidence was recovered at the scene that linked the suspect to a forgery case with Glenwood City PD and the suspect will be charged in St. Croix County as well. A large amount of counterfeit bills were seized.
