Belva “Bel” D. Brockman, 75, of Eau Claire, Wisconsin, formally of Colfax, passed away Monday, July 11, 2016 at Mayo Clinic Health System in Eau Claire.
She was born on September 3, 1940, in Menomonie, Wisconsin to Milton A. and Dorothy Dodge.
As a result of her father working for the railroad she moved often, but eventually graduated high school in Rice Lake, Wisconsin.
Bel married LeRoy Brockman on October 14, 1960 in San Francisco, California where LeRoy was stationed in the Navy. They later settled in Wisconsin. They have two children, Shelley (Bryan) Waughtal and Holly (Andrew) Cseter.
She enjoyed cooking her “special tacos” and desserts for family and friends. Knitting, dancing, camping and going to movies were her favorite pastimes. Bel loved being “Nana” to her grandchildren and cheering them on at all of their events.
Bel is survived by her husband LeRoy; her two daughters; five grandchildren, Jessica, Justin, Jace Cseter; Kelsey and Jordan Waughtal. She is also survived by one sister-in-law and many loved nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and three sisters.
Memorial services will be held at 5:00 p.m. Friday, July 15, 2016 at Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie with Pastor Leslie Walck officiating. Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Burial will take place at a later date at the Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Spooner WI.
