Pete and Chari Krizan will open the doors of their new venture, Chari’s Cafe, this Saturday, April 1. The newest addition to Glenwood City’s downtown will open in the former Oak Street restaurant location.
The musical production “Cinderella” is being presented by the students of Glenwood City high School this weekend at the school.
Amy Hanson has been hired as the Community Education Coordinator by the Glenwood City School Board.

The Hilltopper girls’ basketball team won against Bloomer 54-52, in the Division 3 Sectional Championship at Cumberland on Saturday. The Toppers will have their first berth in the WIAA State Tournament in Madison on Thursday.
The mood of the Glenwood City School Task Force was clearly one of caution and concern for the taxpayers of the district, at the meeting Monday night.
Gary Smith of Glenwood City won a Twin Cities Weekend Trip for two sponsored by Wisconsin Northern Tours in Eau Claire. He received the trip for winning grand prize in the Winter Carnival Photo Contest sponsored by the Menomonie Area Chamber of Commerce. Coya Rassbach of Glenwood City received $25 for winning third prize with her photo.

Two members of the faculty of the Glenwood City school, Royal Stokes and Gustav Franz have received grants from the National Science Foundation in Physics, to study this summer at the New Mexico State University a Las Cruces, New Mexico.
Sand Creek Monday afternoon received a planting of 400 beautiful speckled trout of legal size and over.
Donald D. Schillinger, of Wilson, along with 15 others, has been appointed as a state driver license examiner trainee and has completed a month of orientation at motor vehicle department headquarters in Madison.

Following the action taken at the annual meeting a few weeks ago, the St. Croix Valley Cooperative Dairies on Sunday night closed their plant at Emerald, and will in the future continue their operations in the one plant at Glenwood City. The organization’s third plant at Forest was closed last summer.
About 700 people registered during the two day grand opening of Jack & Ray’s TV Service here last week, commemorating the recent moving of the firm into their new quarters next to the locker plant.
Ever since the snow storm of a couple of weeks ago the road to the city dump has been in pretty bad shape, and as a result some people have unloaded their garbage along the road, making the place a mess. With a little patience the road will be passable again and garbage can be dumped where it belongs. In the meantime, please wait a few days, pleads the city officials.

March 10, 1921
Julius Zellmer, pioneer settler of the town of Forest, was found dead Tuesday morning about 11 a.m., he having evidently committed suicide by hanging himself.
L. A. Walton, has opened up a battery and radiator repair shop in the Odd Fellow building, Glenwood, and is now ready for business. He is equipped to do all kinds of repairing, re-charging, and rebuilding.
Mrs. L. T. Weeks has received news of the murder of her sister, Marie Schroeder, who with her parents moved to Southern Texas two years ago. Marie was a well-known former Glenwood City girl. Her body was found under a pile of brush in an isolated spot, near which signs of a struggle were visible.

Boyceville’s East Street residents at a public hearing April 9 urged village board members to abandon temporarily a proposed curb and gutter project for their neighborhood. Of the 17 landowners notified of the meeting, 10 appeared or sent a representative to register opposition of the plan.
A Boyceville woman, 18 year old, Pamela Hanson, was killed in a two-car collision April 10 on STH 25 just outside the Menomonie city limits.
Final tally votes cast April 7 in Boyceville for village present saw the upset of incumbent E.S. Evenson, by challenger Joe Petryk. Voters returned incumbent Art Nelson Jr., to the board, and also elected Harry Joles Jr. and Joe Pieters to fill the seats.
