TYLER A. MATHEWS

Tyler A. Mathews, age 19, of Boyceville passed away on Wednesday, February 24, 2016 as a result of an automobile accident.

Tyler was born in Indiana and moved with his family to Boyceville, Wisconsin as a young child. He graduated from Boyceville High School in 2015. Tyler joined the National Guard where he served as an Electrical Generator Mechanic.

Tyler loved deer hunting, playing cards and spending time with his family and friends. He truly had a “one of a kind” personality. He could always make everyone laugh and stand for a hug. Tyler lived life to the fullest and will truly be missed by all who knew him.

Tyler is survived by his mother Stacy (Chris) Kulas; father Larry Hitz; brothers Andy Mathews, Mikey (Ashley) Mathews, Ben Hitz; sister Hunter Hitz; stepmother Sara Mathews-James, half-siblings Conner, Alex, Jake and Hannah Mathews; maternal grandmother Kathy Peterson; maternal grandfather Gary Pederstuen; paternal grandparents Ben & Nancy Hitz; nephew Evan Mathews; niece Elizabeth Mathews; maternal great-grandmother Irene Schultze; best friends Damion Bicknell, Abby Lorenz; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his birth father Mike Mathews, uncle Kris Nielson, grandparents Louie and Mimi Mathews.

Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 29, 2016 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Boyceville with Pastor Brad Peterson officiating. Burial will took place at Tiffany Cemetery, Boyceville with military honors by the Wisconsin Army National Guard. Visitation was from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday at Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie and also one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday.
