DALE ALLEN FJELSTAD

Dale Allen Fjelstad, 84, of Forsyth, Montana passed away on February 1, 2016 of natural causes.

A private family service with military honors was held at the Veterans Administration Center in Miles City, Montana on Feb. 9th at 11 a.m. Chaplain Steve Rice will be officiating. There will be a Celebration of Life open to the public honoring Dale at Tainter Lake, Wisconsin in June.

Dale was born in Eau Claire, Wisconsin on April 25, 1931. Dale enlisted in the Army at the age of 17. He fought for his country in Korea and was awarded five Bronze Stars and a Silver Star.

Dale was married to Lois Larson on September 28, 1951. They were married 64 years.

Dale was an avid outdoorsman and fishing at Canyon Ferry Lake was one of the things that brought him to Montana.

Dale worked as a carpenter general foreman for Betchel Power Corporation for 13 years.

Surviving family members include Dale’s wife Lois; his sons Bob (Adele) Fjelstad, Gary (Deveny) Fjelstad, Mark (DeDe) Fjelstad; brother David (Diane) Fjelsted; sisters Fran Gunderson, Elizabeth Johnson, Judy (Bruce) Canong; sisters-in-law Bess Fjelsted, Iva Fjelsted, Lois Fjelstad, Krista (Brent) Montague, Mariea Fjelstad, Patricia (Kelly) Morford, Chaunci (Chris) Rowan, Kyle Fjelstad; his great-grandchildren Whitney Fjelstad, Alexyss Fjelstad, Morgann Fjelstad, Kaleb Fjelstad, Dylan Pettit, Shayla Montague, Allie Montague, Drake Morford, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceding Dale in death are is parents, Ausman & Mary (Longdo) Fjelsted; his brothers Mark Fjelsted, Claire Fjelsted, Jim Fjelsted, his sisters Marce Christianson, Donna Harshman; brothers-in-law Smokey Christianson, Russ Paul, Norm Johnson, Elroy Gunderson.
