VIRGINIA L. NOVOTNEY

Virginia L. “Ginnie” Novotney, age 65, of Menomonie, WI passed away Thursday, February 11, 2016 at Mayo Clinic Health System – Luther in Eau Claire.

She was born August 29, 1950 in Menomonie, WI to Frank L. and Marlene (Lokken) Harshman.  Ginnie was raised in Menomonie and graduated from Menomonie High School in 1968.

She worked as manager at Super America in Menomonie for over 20 years and was most recently employed in customer service at Walmart in Menomonie.

Ginnie was a people person who was loved by the many people she met through work or socially who affectionately called her “Ma” or “Grandma”.  She had a passion for flowers especially her Gladiola and Morning Glories. Most importantly Ginnie loved her family and will be deeply missed.

Ginnie is survived by her children, Kandee Merritt, Chris (Beth) Novotney, Mary Jo (William) Younkins and Billy (Andrea) Novotney; her grandchildren, Kyle Novotney, Alexis, Anthony, Shania and Sydney Merritt, Shayleigh and Noah Novotney, Allie and Wyatt Younkins, Blake, Tayln and Jaya Novotney; her sister, Rose Lemke and brothers, Dan (Sheri) Harshman and Noal and (Peg) Harshman; as well as nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Marlene Harshman; brother-in-law, Gary Lemke and special friend, Kenny Medes.

There will be a gathering to celebrate Ginnie’s life from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie.
