NELLIE E. TRANDUM

Nellie E. Trandum, 88, of Dallas, passed away on Tuesday, February 9, 2016, at Dallas Care & Rehab in Dallas.

Nellie was born on November 29, 1927, in Barron Co. to Durward and Ethel (Phelps) Armstrong.

On the same day as her birthday, November 29, in 1944, Nellie married Elsmore “Pete” Trandum at Hay River Lutheran Church in Wheeler.

Nellie worked at several different places over the years. She farmed and raised a family with Pete in the Wheeler area, worked at Friday Canning Company in New Richmond and Fabric-Tek in Amery.

She enjoyed gardening, dancing and bowling.

Nellie is survived by her three children, Robert (Linda) Trandum of New Town, ND, Margie (Gary Hurtis) Randall of Barron and Candice Trandum of Barron; three sisters, Lucy Johnson, Ruth Thompson and Shirley Armstrong; two brothers, Jim and Paul Armstrong; six grandchildren, Dale Hoage, Melissa (Jason) Holcomb,  Lisa (Dan) Magill, Tracy (Zac) Howlett, Krista (Ed) Peterson and Keith Bethke; 6 great-grandchildren, Madison, Lana, Nicholas, Levity, Cedar and Lexie; and also many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Pete in 1985; brother, Kenneth Armstrong; and two sisters, Lurene Smith and Joan Dado.

Funeral services were held at 12 p.m., Noon, on Monday, February 15, 2016, at Faith Lutheran Church of Running Valley, 14790 Co Hwy A. in Colfax, with Pastor Jim Haga officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral on Monday at the church. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
