EVELYN HILL

Evelyn Hill, age 90, formerly of Glenwood City, died Friday, November 27, 2015, at Our Home Assisted Living in New Richmond.

Evelyn Hill was born Evelyn Sadie Rasmussen on September 7, 1925, to Fred and Mathe “Mae” (Jaeger) Rasmussen on the family farm south of Glenwood City in Springfield Township.

She attended country school during her elementary years and graduated from Glenwood City High School in 1943. Evie worked for a short period of time at the local bakery and cheese factory.

On December 27, 1945, Evie married William Hill in Glenwood City. After raising her family she helped out at Glenwood City Locker which Bill and Evie owned and operated beginning in 1948. She sold the business in 1988.

She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church.

Evie was a wonderful cook, excellent baker, and enjoyed sewing.

She is survived by 7 children, Jodi (Paul) Borreson of Lacey, WA, Peggy (Jim) Murtha of Sioux Falls, SD, Nancy (Tom) Berends of Downing, WI, Barb (Terry) Kerr of Grand Prairie, TX, Joe (Gloria) Hill of Glenwood City, WI, Mary (Mike) Wagner of Grafton, WI, and Sue (Jeff) Roen of Sparta, WI; 1 daughter-in-law, Sue Hill of Green Bay, WI; 21 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bill on May 28, 1987; son, Jim on July 24, 2013; grandson, David Roen; 3 sisters, Lois Clement, Violet Brown, and Marguerite Freigang; 2 brothers, Ken Rasmussen, and David Rasmussen.

Evie died at Our Home Assisted Living in New Richmond, WI, at the age of 90 years, 2 months, 20 days.

Her Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 9, 2016, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Glenwood City with inurnment in the church cemetery. Memorial visitation with family present will be at the church one hour prior to the service on Saturday.
