LINDA KAY MOEN
Linda Kay (Amundson) Moen, 60, of Prairie Farm, WI was called to her eternal home on Thursday, November 19, 2015 after a courageous two year battle with cancer. Linda was born on January 4, 1955 in Rice Lake, WI to Evelyn (Meyer) and Vern Amundsen.
Linda graduated from Prairie Farm High School in 1973. She married Gary Moen on September 10, 1977 in Prairie Farm, WI. Linda had a great passion for learning and teaching others. After high school, she went on to obtain a Secretarial Degree from WITC in Rice Lake, WI. She then worked as a secretary/bookkeeper at the Pioneer Nursing Home in Prairie Farm, WI. Later, she obtained her Nursing Home Administration License and was the Administrator of the Pioneer Nursing home until she decided to go back to school to obtain her Bachelor’s Degree. Linda attended UW- Eau Claire where she graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Education in 1993. She carried out her love of teaching for 22 years at the Turtle Lake High School and celebrated her retirement from the district this year. During her teaching career, Linda also pursued and achieved a Master’s Degree in Marketing from UW- Stout. She loved teaching her students how to learn and preform to the best of their potential, and took great pride in instilling knowledge and skill in all of her students over the years.
Linda is survived by her Husband of 38 years: Gary Moen of Prairie Farm, WI, Daughters: Gretchen (Craig) Naedler of Chippewa Falls, WI, and Meghan (Eric) Naedler of River Falls, WI, Grandchildren: Ella Moen, Luke Moen, Zoey Naedler, Collin Naedler, Noah Naedler and another due in April of 2016, her Mother: Evelyn Amundson of Prairie Farm, WI, Sister: Margie (Marty) Bergmark of Byron, IL, Brothers: Gary (Hedy) Amundson of Rice Lake, WI, Jeff (Patty) Amundson of Prairie Farm, WI, Sisters-in-Law: Sally Barrington of Janesville, WI, Jeanette Amundson of Chippewa Falls, WI, Marlene (Tony) Krawczeski of Florida, Joan Moen of Coon Rapids, WI, Kay Moen-Urseth of New Auburn, WI, Cheryl (Gary) Stene of Colfax, WI, Linda (Dave) Kragness of Wheeler, WI, Pattie Novotney of Chippewa Falls, WI, Molly (Jerry) Bergeson of Colfax, Brothers-in-Law: Larry Gundlach of Eau Claire, WI, Dennis (Roxie) Moen of Ridgeland, WI, Tom (Pam) Moen of Colfax, WI, Terry (Paula) Moen of Colfax, WI, David (Tay) Moen of Ridgeland, WI and many Nieces and Nephews.
Linda is preceded in death by her son: Adam Moen, her Father: Vern Amundson, Brothers: Tom Amundson & Roger Amundson, Brothers-in-Law: Merle Moen, Wallace Moen, Rodney Moen, Sisters-in-Law: Doris Anderson, Karen Gundlach, Mother and Father-in-Law: Ellen & Marvin Moen and both Maternal and Paternal Grandparents.
A service for Linda Moen will be held on Tuesday, November 24, 2015 at 11:00 am at the United Lutheran Church in Prairie Farm, WI with Rev. John Kurschner officiating. A visitation will be held on Monday, November 23, 2015 from 4-7 pm at the United Lutheran Church in Prairie Farm, WI. Burial will be at Vanceburg Cemetery in the township of Sheridan, Dunn County, WI. Arrangements are being handled by Rausch & Steel Funeral Home in Barron, WI.
