MERWIN (BUTCH) E. DIKEMAN

Merwin (Butch) E. Dikeman, age 77, Emerald, WI, passed away on Friday, October 30, 2015 at home in the Baldwin Care Center peacefully in his sleep.

Butch was born November 18, 1937, in LaCrosse, WI to Clifford and Ethel (Bobo) Dikeman.  Butch was united in marriage to “Lou” Kahler on May 19, 1962. Together they raised 8 children.  He worked many years at Niro, Inc. in Hudson, WI. He enjoyed spending time with his family. When the children were younger, he enjoyed singing the auctioneer song around the campfire and on long road trips.  He enjoyed bowling and playing golf.  The last year he enjoyed playing bingo and having social hour with the rest of the residents at the Baldwin Care Center.

Butch is proceeded in death by his wife, Marylou; Son, John; his parents Clifford and Gertude Dikeman, and Ethel and Oscar Bires; sister, Jean Hembd.

Butch is survived by two sons, five daughters and one daughter-in-law: Eugene (Denise) Dikeman, Lewiston, MI; Cindy Dikeman, Jamestown, PA; Peg (Bernie) Obermueller, Glenwood City; Sherri (Roy) Stevens, Clear Lake; Brenda (Wayne) Schone, Clear Lake; Jackie (Keith) Bach, Glenwood City; Cindy (David) Hurtgen, Glenwood City; Tom Dikeman and fiancée Jolene Hurtgen, Downing; 25 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; mother-in-law, Eva Kahler; and extended family.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m. on Wednesday, November 4, 2015 at St. John’s Catholic Church with Fr. John Long as celebrant. Burial will be in the church cemetery, Glenwood City. Friends may call at the Anderson Funeral Home in Glenwood City, WI on Tuesday November 3, 2015 from 4 to 8 p.m. and one hour prior to services Wednesday at the church.
