BOYCEVILLE — The 1860 vintage base ball team, Menomonie Blue Caps, will be bringing their talents to Boyceville, WI on September 19. The matches will be played at the historical Andy Pafko Park. The first match will begin at 10:00 am and will feature the Blue Caps taking on the St. Croix Base Ball Club of Stillwater (MN).
Following the first match, a Boyceville Pick 9 team will take the field for the first time. Vintage base ball is a growing phenomenon and more teams are wanting to get in on the action. Are you interested in playing/joining another 1860 vintage team in Dunn County? You will have your chance by attending this event.
These games will be contested under the rules of 1860. The Menomonie Blue Caps are sponsored by the Dunn County Historical Society, this means that beyond sport this game is for education and entertainment. By attending such an event, the “cranks” (crowd) will learn many different facets of the game.
