The Colfax school board gave the go ahead to a comprehensive renovation of the district’s baseball field which means all high school games scheduled at home for the 2006 season will be played on the road.
Julian and Loretta Logslett will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary Aug. 27 at the Colfax Town Hall.
Anderson Bridges has reached an agreement with the Colfax Village Board to build a new building for their business in the village’s industrial park.

Several new staff members were welcomed by the Colfax school district including Eldora Ondrus for sixth grade, Connie McDonald in high school English, Mark Mosey in high school biology, Ernestina Ries, Spanish, and Joe Doucette, elementary physical education.
Bridget Schlough of Boyceville and Timothy Rundle of Wheeler were married Aug. 4 at Colfax Lutheran Church.
Phil and Twylia Rose will celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary with an open house at their home in Elk Mound Sept. 2.
The Colfax football team opened the season with a 20-12 double overtime loss to Prescott while Elk Mound won their opening game 27-7 over Spring Valley.
A daughter, Kayla Nicole Larson was born Aug. 16 to Randy Larson and Connie Pichler at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire.

September 4, 1980
Four dairy cows on the Jerry Knaack farm north of Colfax were killed after being struck by lightning in a storm Aug. 29.
Colfax defeated Flambeau 6-0 in football action with Tim Knutson scoring on a 61 yard punt return for the only score of the game.
The 14th annual Firemen’s Ball will take place Sept. 6-7 with a parade, penny hunt, waterfight, dance and a rope pulling contest.

Susan Carey of Elk Mound and Jack Anderson of Chippewa Falls were united in marriage Aug. 21 at Big Elk Creek Lutheran Church.
Julie Ann Schneider of Chippewa Falls became the bride of Willard A. Brenner of Bloomer Aug. 14 at St. Charles Church in Chippewa Falls.
A car stolen two weeks ago belonging to Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Johnson was located in Nashville, Tennessee. Three local minors had taken the car, driven it until their funds ran out, then left it. The Johnsons flew to Nashville and drove their car back to Colfax.

The wedding of Genevieve Marie Erickson and Juul Hovre Noer, both of Colfax, took place at the Colfax Lutheran Church Aug. 18.
Pauline Noer of Colfax and Raymond Summers of Dearborn, Michigan exchanged wedding vows at the Colfax Lutheran Church Aug. 20.
Thelma Rude of Colfax and Lawrence Thomley of Fond Du Lac repeated their marriage vows Aug. 19 at the Colfax Lutheran Church.
Mr. and Mrs. Breeze received a telegram from the war department that their son, Private First Class Vernon L. Breeze was wounded in action in Korea.

September 3, 1915
Early Monday morning, Emil Danielson was driving his Reo car near the Skorge place on the north side and was met head on by Johnnie Sagmo in his Ford car. Happily no one was injured but the Sagmo car was in such bad shape that it needed help to get home.
Rev. and Mrs. James J. Peterson celebrated the 50th anniversary of their wedding in a quiet way on Sept. 1.
John J. Holt arrived home Tuesday from an extended visit with relatives in Norway, and seems highly pleased that he was able to get home in safety on account of the war conditions.
