Clinton Meacham, age 89, of Downing, Wisconsin died Saturday, August 22, 2015 at Glenhaven Nursing Home in Glenwood City.
Clinton was born November 11, 1925 to Condon and Helen (Morland) Meacham at home in Downing. He was baptized and confirmed and a longtime member of the Downing United Methodist Church.
He grew up and attended Downing Schools. After finishing school, he continued working on the farm with his parents. He raised sheep, cows and horses. For many years he took horses up north to various camps and resorts and helped give riding lessons.
Preceding him in death were his parents; brothers and sisters and their spouses: Leo (Elsie) Meacham; Frances (Fred) Chandler; Margaret Lawler Buxton; Rev. Walter (Rebecca) Meacham; and Dean (Helen) Meacham; and brothers-in-law Helmer Hurtgen and John Ohman.
Survived by his two sisters: Connie Hurtgen of Downing; and Ann Ohman of Hudson; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral service was on Tuesday, August 25, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at the Downing United Methodist Church in Downing, Wisconsin. Visitation was one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial was in the Mound Cemetery, Downing.
Honorary bearers were Robert Ludtke, Jason Heutmaker, Edwin James, Gilbert Mounce, and Robert Bartz. Pallbearers were John Meacham, Terry Meacham, William Hurtgen, Bruce Ohman, John Ohman and Greg Holden.
