Betty Marie Lark, 84, a truly amazing woman who loved life, laughing, and her family, died on Wednesday, July 1, in Baldwin, Wisconsin.
Betty was born on November 26, 1930 in the Township of Springfield, Wisconsin. She grew up there with her parents, Leonard and Johanna (Flack) Frantz, and her brother and six sisters.
In 1953, she married the love of her life, Charles O. Lark at First Lutheran Church in Hersey. They lived life to the fullest, hand in hand from there on out. Most of their life together was spent in Wisconsin, but they enjoyed living in Texas, Kansas, and Oklahoma for a time. Betty shared her talents and infectious smile working for the airlines, in various supper clubs, customer service in grocery and retail, and finally as the bookkeeper for the family business.
Betty was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved spending time with her family talking and laughing, putting puzzles together, and watching the Packers. Her devotion to her family left a legacy that will live on forever.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Charles, and brother Kenneth (LaVern) Frantz, and sisters Irene (Albert) Krizan, Leona (Don) McGee, Delors Frantz, Pauline (Harold) Swenson, Sylvia (John) Mertz, and Klover (Vance) Lagerstrom.
She is survived by her daughter Jolene Lark of Elmwood, WI; son Phillip (Peggy) Lark of Weston, WI; son Tracy (Kelly) Lark of Madison, WI; daughter Susan (Ty) Krings of Gordon, WI; and daughter Cathy Jo Finley of River Falls, WI; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. She will be deeply missed by all.
Services to celebrate her life were held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, July 7, 2015 at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home, 1010 Newton Street in Baldwin, with visitation beginning at 11 a.m. Burial followed at the Oakwood Cemetery in Hersey, WI.
