Two vehicle accident on Hwy. 128 sends two people to the hospital

Shortly before eight in the morning of June 24 a two vehicle accident occurred at the intersection of State Highway 128 and 80th Avenue in Springfield Township that sent two people to a local hospital.

A westbound 2010 Toyota Corolla driven by Kable W-Giorgis, 24 of Minneapolis (red vehicle in above photo) failed to stop on 80th Avenue and struck the right side of a southbound 2003 Ford Taurus (back center of photo) driven by Phillip Tonn, 35, of Boyceville sending both vehicles into the east ditch of Highway 128.

Tonn was alone in his vehicle, while three passengers were riding with W-Giorgis. They were: Sonae Harris, 46, no address given; Mark Moen, 18 of Plymouth, Minnesota and Austin LeClaire, 19, also of Plymouth.

Harris, who was riding in the rear right seat of the W-Giorgis vehicle and Tonn, were transported to the hospital. W-Giorgis was cited for drunk driving and failure to stop at a stop sign. Both vehicles received considerable damage.

Assisting the St. Croix County Sheriff’s Department at the scene were the Wisconsin State Patrol, Baldwin Ambulances and the Glenwood City Fire Department.
