After serving the Colfax and Tainter United Methodist Churches for nine years, Pastor Steve and Sharon Groves will be honored at a farewell dinner at Tainter Church June 26.
Steven Boley of Boyceville was killed when the bicycle he was riding collided with a car on Highway 79 in the Town of Menomonie June 10.
Colfax baseball players led the D-SC Conference in several statistics including Josh Mousel with a 9-1 pitching record and most strikeouts with 86, Joey Robertson scored the most runs with 23 and the team had the most home runs with 25.

A daughter, RaeAnne Marge Berndt, was born June 15 to Debra and Elmer Berndt of Colfax at Luther Hospital, Eau Claire.
Married June 2 at Bethesda Lutheran Church in Eau Claire, were Vicki Bjork of Colfax and Robert Mousel of Elk Mound.
Jacqueline Kay Schumacher of Elk Mound and Joshua Ben Mayers of Chicago, Ill. were married May 26 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Elk Mound.
A heavy wind storm brought damage to the area and destroyed a machine shed and half of a 65 foot silo on the John Olson farm and a barn belonging to Curt Knutson, both north of Colfax.

Kay Albricht of Colfax and Peter Pershern of Menomonie were united in marriage May 17 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Menomonie.
Pamela Susan Slind of Colfax and Douglas Gordon Rudesill of River Falls exchanged wedding vows June 7 at Colfax Lutheran Church.
Five Viking girls were named to the D-SC All Conference softball team including Lori Rodriguez as a pitcher, Marilyn Peterson at second base, Becky Knutson at shortstop, Cheryl Hedler, outfield and Jill Knutson, utility.

A surprise twenty fifth wedding anniversary observance was held on Friday evening in honor of Mr. and Mrs. John Higbie, Sr. at their home.
Mr. and Mrs. David Sundby will hold an open house at the Colfax Lutheran Church June 27 in honor of their twenty fifth wedding anniversary.
The big specials at your Farmer’s Store Foods this week include ground beef for 43 cents a pound, five loaves of Banner Bread for $1.00 and two pounds of Hills Bros. coffee for $1.53.

Under a clear, summery sky, the fifty nine graduates of the Colfax class of 1950 marched to the stage on the high school lawn and were addressed by American Legion State Commander Charles Larson.
Borgny Martine Fjelsted and Duane Leonard Haugle, both of Colfax, were united in marriage June 10 at Colfax Lutheran Church.
A son was born to Mr. and Mrs. Forest Ferry at the Stovern Maternity Home June 1 and a baby was born June 6 to Mr. and Mrs. Chester Hullberg of Wheeler at Luther Hospital.

The vote in the village Monday on the subject of a loan for the purpose of erecting a Municipal building carried in favor of the loan 101 to 62, and now the matter rests with the village board who will likely proceed to secure the loan and get the work started.

Since the village has never had a public town clock, the Bank of Colfax commissioned a company from Minneapolis to build one of the finest clocks which will strike the hours in a clear, vibrant tone and will give the correct time both up and down the street.
