THOMAS JOHN “TOM” KONSELA

Thomas John “Tom” Konsela, age 57 of Emerald, died suddenly on Monday, May 11, 2015 at his residence from a heart attack.

Thomas was born on May 3, 1958 in Whitehall, Wisconsin, the son of Joseph and Alvina (Fernholz) Konsela. He was raised near Independence, Wisconsin where he attended school. Thomas was an over the road truck driver his entire life. He loved the tranquility and peace that came from a highway. He worked for several companies, but his most recent and one he liked best was Hager City Express Company.

Thomas was a quiet man who wasn’t a big fan of crowds, but sure loved time spent with family and friends. His grandsons were his pride and joy. He was a big softy when it came to them as he could never say no to them. He loved the outdoors, country roads on his Harley Chopper, walks or hunting in the woods, or putting his thoughts to canvas painting pictures. He also enjoyed tinkering with woodworking (caveman style) and anything that needed a little mechanical fix er up. He also enjoyed playing the drums as he had a musical ear.

Thomas will remain in the hearts of his sons, Michael (Melissa Turner) of Ft. Atkinson, Douglas (Dana Weinert) of Barron; grandsons, Daemon and Luke; siblings, Mary Jane Konsela of St. Paul, Robert (Darlene) Konsela of Mondovi, Sue (Chuck) Walske of Osseo, Bernadette Konsela (Dick Johnson) of Bloomington, Al (Diane) Konsela of Emerald, Marge (Steve) Nicolai of Birchwood, Pat (Mac) McKinley of Whitehall; several nieces and nephews; and special friend and companion, Jill Mistelski of Baldwin. He is preceded in death by his parents; twin infant grandsons, Micky and Mason; and nephews Ron Walske (his Godson) and Jeremy Konsela.

A gathering to pay tribute to Tom’s life will be on Friday from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home in Baldwin. Interment will be private. Memorials are preferred to the discretion of the family. Funeral services entrusted to the O’Connell Family Funeral Home and Countryside Crematory of Baldwin.
