DUANE COOK

Duane Cook, age 80, of Hammond, Wisconsin and formerly of St. Paul, MN died on Monday, May 11, 2015 at the American Heritage Care Center in Hammond.

Duane was born October 8, 1934, to parents Emma and Leon Cook. He attended high school in Ellsworth, WI where he played basketball. He was united in marriage to Norma Edith Severson on March 9, 1957. Their union in marriage would be blessed with seven children, and over 57 years of love and devotion.

Duane served as a Corporal in the United States Army earning a Purple Heart and two Bronze Stars in the Korean War. He also worked along side his brother Raymond for 30 years at Green Leaf Tree Service. Duane loved his fishing trips; it was the only time he and Norma were ever apart. He was also a life long lover of all sports, and had to be the number one Twins and Vikings fan.

Duane is survived by his children, Michael Cook, Ronald Cook, Thomas (Jackie) Cook, Peggy (Rick) Holden, Diana (Rita) Cook, and Donald (Sandy) Cook; 18 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; brother Ray (Kim) Cook, many nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Norma; his daughter, Patricia; and his parents.

A time of remembrance, sharing and military honors for Duane Cook will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 13, 2015 at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home, 1010 Newton Street in Baldwin.
