JohnsonStar Computer Services, owned by Scott Johnson, has established a retail location between NAPA and Karl’s Chevrolet on Main St. and will be managed by Tom Wesley.
Lachlin Hinwood, Brittany Rothbauer and Brooke Christianson, all Colfax fourth graders, were named winners in the Tar Wars poster contest, designed to encourage children to stay tobacco free.
The Elk Mound softball team pummeled Colfax 19-2 in five innings as Kyrah Beaulieu earned the victory on the mound.

Doni and Nancy White recently purchased the root beer stand at the corner of Highway 40 and County M in Colfax and hope to have it in operation by Memorial Day weekend.
A son, Jameson Thomas Kasperek, was born to Tom and Kelli (Knudson) Kasperek May 1 in Minneapolis.
Elk Mound freshman Lisa Townsend won the high hurdles, high jump and triple jump to earn the Most Valuable award for field events at the Mondovi Invite.
Loren Bergeson of Colfax won the shot put at the Cadott and Cornell track meets while Mark Hagberg won the 200 and 400 m dash at the Cornell meet and placed first in the 400 at Cadott.

A daughter, Kari Jennette, was born May 3, to Mr. and Mrs. Gary Anderson of Colfax at the University of Minnesota Hospital.
Arnold Sumstad shot a hole in one on the seventh hole of Whitetail Golf Course May 19.
64 students will graduate from Colfax High School with commencement being held May 23 in the new gym. Student speakers are Lisa Strand and Mike Kiekhafer.

Patricia Ann Marsec and Charles Eugene Green were married May 1 at Holden Lutheran Church, rural Colfax.
Born to Mr. and Mrs. Steve Close, a son named James Allen, on May 11 at the Menomonie Hospital.
Colfax won over Boyceville in a track meet held here May 14. Rich Knutson won the shot put and the 880 yard run, Warren Sylte won the 100 yard dash, Kenny Bjork the mile run, Gary Sonnenberg the discus and Tom Harstad the 220 yard dash. Harstad also tied Lentz of Boyceville for the pole vault title.

Lee Porter, king of the Colfax prom, will crown Joanne Rublee as his queen during the annual Junior Promenade to be held in the gymnasium May 12. Johnny Farwell and his orchestra will provide the music to the theme “Blue Moon.”
In high school baseball action, Clyde Prince pitched a three hit game in a 2-1 win over Chippewa Falls and Rolly Prince singled home the winning run in the bottom of the seventh for a 3-2 win over Cadott.
Rev. T.M. Boe was greeted by about 270 parishioners and friends of the church when he preached his initial sermon at the Colfax Lutheran Church last Sunday.
Crystal Knight of Colfax became the bride of Ray Isle of Eau Claire May 9 in Eau Claire.

The snow that fell on the ground in the area May 17 was as crisp as on a November day and the windstorm with it broke large limbs off the trees in the village.
At the United church in the village on Wednesday occurred the marriage of Mr. Carl Olson and Miss Clara Stevens, both of Norton.
Paul Friberg and Miss Olga A. Amble were united in marriage May 15 at the Running Valley Free church.
Born to Mr. and Mrs. Will Mathews Thursday morning, an eight and a half pound baby boy.
Born to Mr. and Mrs. Peter Rongli on Tuesday, a son.
