Ed Stuart IV and Grace Neuburg were crowned King and Queen of the Colfax High School junior prom.
Joel Meyer and Joanna Franz were chosen as Elk Mound High School’s prom King and Queen.
The Colfax baseball team, leaders in the Large D-SC Conference beat Elk Mound, leaders of the Small D-SC 7-1 in a contest played in a steady drizzle.
Kevin Dietsche finished in the top ten for the Colfax golf team at the Bloomer Invite.

Roger Valaske and Kenny Kiekhafer of Colfax, along with Robert Seyler of Eau Claire, each purchased a one third interest in a screen printing business in Eau Claire and have moved the business to Colfax, naming it RKR Screenprinting and Specialties.
Top ten members of the Colfax High School senior class include Matthew Berg, Stacy Bjurquist, Maureen Brennan, Richard Gunnufson, Derek Horn, Michael Lee, Rachel Loew, Stephanie Rassbach, Tammy Riste and Christopher Stoffel.
Jacob and Diane Loew will celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary May 11 at the Pines Ballroom in Bloomer.

A daughter, Rebecca Jean, was born May 1 at Luther Hospital, Eau Claire to Bill and Jean Whitwam of Colfax.
Mr. and Mrs. David (Beth) Young of Grand Forks, N.D. are the parents of a daughter, Michelle April, born May 2.
Daniel J. Marko, age 22, formerly of Colfax, died May 10 at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Billings, Mont. as the result of an auto accident March 31.

Mr. and Mrs. Emil Everson observed their 50th wedding anniversary at their home near Trout Creek May 9.
Darlene Sue Johnson of Colfax and Richard Lee Wilkes of Edina, Minn. were married April 10 at Colonial Church in Edina.
A son was born to Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Bowlin at Richland Center May 2. He has been named Todd David.
A little baby boy seven months old, came to make his home with Mr. and Mrs. Clifton Hill May 11. They have named him Scott Clifton.
Dave and Lee Bates and Richard Shong were displaying a fine catch of trout about noon on opening day. They didn’t have a great number but what they lacked in numbers, they made up in quality.

Hundreds of parishioners and friends turned out at two gatherings to honor Rev. and Mrs. Gilbert Oppen, the temporary Lutheran pastor completing his work here Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Brenizer are the parents of a son born April 29 at Luther Hospital in Eau Claire.
Joan Lunn, Lillian Olson and Phillip Felland attended the eastern district Lutheran League at Manitowoc, Wis. last week. Joan and Lillian were delegates for the Colfax Lutheran League.

The local base ball team journeyed to Dallas last Sunday and crossed bats with the team at that place, defeating them by a score of 14 to 11. The batteries were: for Colfax, Swenson and Howe, for Dallas, Wintrone and Brooten.
Mrs. D.N. Welch arrived here on Thursday of last week to join her husband, the Soo Line station agent, and they are now cozily domiciled in rooms in the post office block.
Born to Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Baker (Miss Julia Moen), of Minneapolis, a daughter May 7.
