Douglas Elvin Davis, age 61 of Knapp, Wisconsin passed away surrounded by loved ones on April 22, 2015 at the Park View Campus in Woodville, Wisconsin.
Douglas was born on April 15, 1954 to Elvin and Bernadette (Martin) Davis in Pontiac, Michigan. At age 9, after the loss of his mother, he moved with his family to a farm in Glenwood City, Wisconsin. He attended school in Glenwood City until his junior year in high school when he and his family moved to White Pine, Michigan. He later returned to this area.
Doug is loved by his two daughters, Casey and Christina Davis step-son Nicholas Anderson, and his precious grandchildren and siblings. He was an avid fisherman, gardener, and loved his hobby farm with his animals, beautiful ponds, and hatchery. Doug will always be remembered for his happy grin and his sense of humor.
Douglas is survived by his children: daughters Casey Davis of Woodville and Christina Davis (Brian Gregg) of Spring Valley; stepson, Nicholas Anderson of Woodville; sisters Linda (Jim) Bonte of Hammond; Nancy Simmon of Coon Rapids, MN; brothers Joe (Deb) Davis of Madison, WI; Jim (Colleen) Davis of Cameron, WI; and step mother Barb Davis of Menomonie, WI; grandchildren: Mason and Oliver; Adrian, Addison and Levi; and Devon; along with many other nieces and nephews and other family and friends.
Douglas is preceded in death by his mother, Bernadette; infant brother, Gerald; father, Elvin Davis; and brother-in-law, Tom Simmon.
Funeral services were on Sunday, April 26th, 2015 at Zion Lutheran Church in Woodville, Wisconsin. Douglas graciously donated his body for research to the Mayo Foundation in Rochester, Minnesota.
