Eila June Myers, 93, of Colfax, Wisconsin, died on February 5, 2015, at her daughter’s home in Huntsville, Alabama.
She was born July 12, 1921, in Eau Claire, the daughter of Glenn and Emma (Bredesen) Davis and sister of Vivian “Bette” Hadt. She married Herbert “Herbie” Myers on June 25, 1941, and they had two children, Richard Myers and Louanne (Myers) Long. Eila was a wonderful and beloved mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, cook, baker, quilter, gardener, and long-time member of Big Elk Creek Lutheran Church. She doted on her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and was an “adopted grandma” to many.
Eila is survived by her daughter, Louanne and son, Richard (Suzanne) Myers; her grandchildren, Kim (Greg) Retzloff, Kyle (Kirsten) Myers, and Shelley (Jeff) Summerlin-Long; and great-grandchildren, Bryce and Kailee Retzloff, Mason and Ellie Myers, and Chenoah, Jonah, and Marley Summerlin-Long; as well as many other loved ones.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, April 13, 2015, at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home, 814 First Ave., Eau Claire, with Pastor Danny Wheeler officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Lake-view Cemetery, Eau Claire.
