LYLE GRADON FJELSTED

Lyle Gradon Fjelsted, 77, of 1148 Blackberry Circle, Baker, FL 32531, passed away at the home of his son in Fort Walton Beach, FL on March 27, 2015, after a 20-year battle with prostate cancer.

Lyle was born in Colfax to Selmer and Aida (Pederson) Fjelsted on June 18, 1937. He graduated from Colfax High School in 1955.

Upon graduation from high school, he joined the U.S. Air Force, from which he retired in 1980 with the rank of Major. He taught math for 13 years in San Antonio, TX. Lyle enjoyed working in the yard and spending time with his son Mark and the grandchildren.

Lyle was predeceased by his parents and his brother Orlen. He is survived by his wife of 56 years Mae (MacKenzie), and their son Mark and his wife Michelle (Benson); his grandchildren Kathleen, Andrew (Briana Jordon), and Michael Byrd; and his great-grand daughter, Charlotte Byrd. He is also survived by his sister Borgny (Larry) Hanley of Arkansas, and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at St. Andrew by the Sea in Destin, Florida in April.
