WALTER WILLIAM WIENKE, JR.

Walter William Wienke, Jr., age 81, of River Falls, Wisconsin, passed away on Tuesday, March 3, 2015, at the VA Medical Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota, surrounded by his loving family.

Walter was born on December 5, 1933 to Walter and Alta (Ziemer) Wienke in Forest-Emerald, Wisconsin.

Walter served in the United States Army from 1953 to 1955. On September 15, 1956, he was united in marriage to the love of his life, Berneita Fisher. To this union five children were born.

Walter was a faithful member of St. Bridget Catholic Church, the American Legion, the Knights of Columbus, and the Kinni Good Sam Camping Club.

Walter enjoyed life to the fullest with his family and friends. He especially enjoyed his later years at their camper up North spending time fishing, cutting wood, and taking cat naps wherever and whenever he could. Walter lived a full life enjoying every minute and he never complained about a thing. He loved his family, friends, and his faith in God.

Walter was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Harris, Paul, Arthur and Melvin, along with their spouses, Leitha, Elburta and Wilma, sister, Dorothy Vande Vrede, and her spouse, Berdean Vande Vrede, brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, Vernon, Donald, Duane and Jim Fisher, Bob and Margaret Fisher and Arnie Pechacek, niece and nephew, Loreen Moe and Randy Vande Vrede, and three great-grandchildren.

Walter is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Berneita, children, Shirley (Terry “Porky”) Brust, Peter (Dori), Donna (Jeffrey) Smith, Jerry (Lynelle), and Debbie (Rich) Cernohous, grandchildren, Jason (Penny) Johnson, Marvin and Paulina Wienke, Jeremy (Angie) King, Stephanie (Nick) Hackel, Zack and Tyler Larson, Jessica (Pete) Patterson, Jon (Alicia) Wienke, and Megan Cernohous, and great-grandchildren, Kasey, Austin and Braxtyn Johnson, Emogene and Sophia Hackel, Alexis and Ethan Patterson, and Aubrey and Isabella Wienke, sister-in-law, Delores Pechacek, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Services for Walter will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2015 at St. Bridget Catholic Church in River Falls with visitation from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. with interment at St. Bridget Catholic Cemetery following the Mass.
