Edward N. Hobbick, age 100, formerly of Boyceville, WI died Monday, February 23, 2015 at the Neighbors of Dunn County in Menomonie, WI.

Ed was born March 25, 1914 in Joliet, IL to Clement and Grace (McCluskey) Hobbick. He lived in the Township of Erin Prairie, WI area for many years before moving to Menomonie, WI with his family.

Ed married Gertrude O’Neil June 5, 1935 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Menomonie, WI. They lived in the Menomonie area until 1972, when they moved to Colorado. In 1976 they returned and lived in Boyceville, WI. He worked at the Wisconsin Milling Co., drove truck and farmed. When they were in Colorado he worked as a cowboy. They enjoyed traveling and later on he enjoyed the walks around Boyceville. Ed loved working with wood, where he refinished furniture and sometimes built special pieces.

Ed is preceded in death by his wife Gertrude; parents; son Kenneth; three sisters Mary, Margaret and Roslyn; and four brothers Francis, Tom, John and Ralph.

Ed is survived by three children: Robert (Ann) Hobbick of Anoka, MN, Daniel (Linda) Hobbick of Irvine, CA and Joan (Tom) Harris of Menomonie, WI; seven grandchildren: Linda, Ken, Mary Beth, Karen, Julie, Jennifer and Becky; two step-grandchildren Daniel Harris and Molly Powers; 11 great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren; and brother Harold (Orvana) Hobbick of Cut Bank, MT. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Mass was held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 27, 2015 at St. Luke’s Catholic Church in Boyceville, WI with Father Kevin Louis as celebrant. Interment of cremains will be in St. Joe’s Catholic Cemetery Menomonie, WI at a later date. Friends were able to call at the church one hour prior to services Friday. Local arrangements by the Anderson Funeral Home in Glenwood City, WI.
