ROSE ELIZABETH ALVERMANN (THOMPSON)

Rose E. Alvermann (Thompson), age 88 of Forest Township, WI, died on Friday, February 20, 2015, at the Golden Age Manor Nursing Home in Amery, WI.

Rose Elizabeth Alvermann was born on August 28, 1926, in Franklin, New Hampshire, the daughter of Clinton & Rose (Wilson) Tilton. She was the youngest of eight children. Rose grew up in Franklin, NH and graduated from Franklin High School in 1944. She was married to William Thompson in 1947 at Worcester, Massachusetts, moved to Wisconsin and raised two sons: Marvin and Mathew. William died in 1954. Rose was married to Palmer Alvermann in 1957 and together operated a dairy farm in Forest Township for many years and raised one son, Wayne. In addition to farming, Rose worked as a housekeeper at the Camelot Motel and Forest Inn in Amery. She enjoyed reading, puzzles, feeding her hummingbirds, and tending to her large flower gardens. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Forest. Rose had been a resident of Golden Age Manor in Amery for the past few years.

Rose is preceded in death by her husbands, William Thompson and Palmer Alvermann; her son, Marvin Thompson; four infant children; parents, Clinton & Rose Tilton; four brothers and three sisters.

Rose is survived by her sons: Mathew Thompson (Molly Mooney) of Centuria, WI and Wayne (Bev) Alvermann of Deer Park, WI; grandchildren: Paul Thompson, Jenna Black, Carl Alvermann, Nathan (Michelle) Alvermann, Eric (Shannon) Alvermann, and Kara Jo (Matt) Norberg; great-grandchildren: Caulden, Bailey, Devin, Mason, Hayden, Sterling, and Evelyn Alvermann, John and Abbigail Norberg; sister-in-law Lillian Bergstrom of Superior, WI; and nieces, nephews, family and many friends.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, February 27, 2015 at 7 p.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Forest, WI. Pastor Bob Dahm will officiate. Visitation will be at the church on Friday from 5 – 7 p.m. Interment will be at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Forest, WI.

Memorials are preferred.
