DAVID L. MARLETT

David L. Marlett, age 57 and lifelong resident of rural Clayton, WI, died on Tuesday, February 17, 2015, at the Amery Regional Medical Center after a two-year battle with Pancreatic Cancer, ultimately succumbing to complications of his treatment.

David LaRoy Marlett was born on February 10, 1958, in Amery, WI the son of Howard and Gladys (Thomas) Marlett. He grew up in the Clayton area, was baptized and confirmed at Faith Lutheran Church and graduated from Clayton High School in 1977. David was married to Kelly Christopherson on June 18, 1977 at the United Covenant Church in Clear Lake, WI and together they raised three beautiful daughters, Andrea, Rachel, and Sara.

David milked his own herd on the family dairy farm for many years and also enjoyed a 36 year career as a cheese maker for Stella Cheese (Foremost Farms) in Clayton, WI. In his spare time, he enjoyed having coffee at Lake Magnor, spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren. David loved lawn mowing, wood working and doing home improvement projects. He enjoyed watching westerns and old shows on “TV Land”. David’s loving nature was evident in his compulsion to help family, friends and strangers. He worked tirelessly to aid others in any way he could. He was the epitome of selflessness and never considered his contributions as debts to be collected. It was difficult to understand the magnitude of David’s fight because his sense of humor put others at ease. He will be sorely missed by his family and friends.
