MARCUS H. WIENKE

Marcus H. Wienke, 80, of Burlington, passed away Sunday, February 8, 2015 at Hospice House Alliance in Racine.

Born in St. Croix County on December 6, 1934, he was the son of Frank and Erna (nee Voeltz) Wienke. He spent his early life in Glenwood City where he attended school.

Marcus was married to Corrine Thomas who preceded him in death on December 18, 1983. On August 3, 1985, he was united in marriage to Sharon D. Thomas. Following marriage they made their home in Burlington. Marcus worked for Ryder Trucking hauling cars. He loved fishing and watching the Packers. He enjoyed spending time with his family and took great pride in his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon; children, Lorri (Steven) Baker, Thomas (Susan) Wienke; step-children, Teresa Young, Anne Young, Carolyn Van Tassel, Richard Young, Christina Cunningham and William Young; grandchildren, Kimberly (Jerod) Buss, Sarah (Isreal) Moran, Thomas Baker; step grandchildren, Jessica McDonald, Amy Cunningham, Andrew Nybloom, Christa Nybloom, Adam Peterson, Ann Marie Sigmund, Samantha Van Tassel, Marcus Young and Lucas Young. He is also survived by 6 great grandchildren; a brother, Dennis (Brenda) Wienke and one niece, Pamela.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

The family would like to thank Dr. Raymond Knight, Dr. Jolanta Twardy, St. Catherine’s Hospital staff and Hospice House Alliance for their care and concern during this time.

The family is suggesting memorials go to Hospice House Alliance.

Services for Marcus will be Friday, February 13, 2015 at 12:00 noon at Our Savior Lutheran Church with Rev. Rob Bolling officiating. Visitation will be at the church on Friday, February 13th from 10:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. Graveside services will be held Saturday, February 14th at 12:00 noon at St. John’s Cemetery in Glenwood City, WI.
