Several friends and neighbors around the area harvested corn on the Pete Friberg farm after Friberg lost his arm in a corn picking accident two weeks ago.

Monica Sarauer and Jason Zwiefelhofer, both of Bloomer, were married Nov. 6 at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Bloomer.

A house fire near Sand Creek claimed the life of 63 year old Kenneth Smith Nov. 20 and on the same day, a one vehicle accident on County Road V west of Ridgeland resulted in the death of 23 year old Andrea Pecore.

A daughter, Jessica Marie Sobatta, was born Nov. 4 to Kevin Sobotta and Susan Hancock at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Chippewa Falls.

Married Oct. 14 at Colfax Lutheran Church were Stacy L. Haugle of Colfax and Gregory S. Berger of Menomonie.

Calling it “an investment for the future”, the Colfax Village board agreed to buy a computer and software at a cost of $2,545 to be used for water bills and possibly other business items for the village.

Shelley Anne Lorenzen was born to Marc and Chris Lorenzen of Colfax Nov. 17 at Sacred Heart Hospital, Eau Claire.

Joan McLain of Menomonie and Thomas Johnson of Colfax were married Nov. 10 at Holden Lutheran Church.

Colfax resident Jeff Peterson shot a 150 pound six point buck on his Deer Haven Ranch in Grant Township that appeared to be part albino as it had white hooves, noose and tail.

James L. Hovland of Colfax and Linda Ann Avise of Naperville, Ill. Were married Oct. 17 at the First Methodist Church in Naperville.

Born to Mr. and Mrs. Duane Suckow, a daughter at Luther Hospital November 25.

Spec./4 and Mrs. Elton Bergeson, Jr. have returned home after a two year tour with the U.S. Army. During his time in Germany, Bergeson served as Communications Chief and was later selected as a professional pistol shooter for the 3rd Infantry Division.

St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Tilden was the scene of a wedding Nov. 15 when Miss Mary Bowe became the bride of James Schindler.

River’s Bend, in the northwest section of Colfax which for years has been dubbed “Shanty Town” is searching for a more euphonious name according to Mrs. E.E. Stuart, a resident of that section.

The next of a series of popular Jamborees at the Legion Hall will take place next Saturday night. A lot of fun is in store including the regular entertainment and an added attraction of a chicken shoot.

A pretty wedding took place at the home of the groom’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jens Foslid last Saturday when Laura Isabelle Score was united in marriage to Mr. Albert Foslid.

The marriage of Mr. Gjermund Thompson to Miss Theressa Anderson occurred at the home of the bride’s mother, Mrs. Emma Anderson last Saturday.

At the residence of Rev. and Mrs. T. Saetveit last Saturday, Lewis Lund and Miss Matilda Halvorson were united in marriage.

The Village Board held a special meeting Monday evening and levied a general tax of $4,190.
