LAURENCE EDWIN CROSBY

Laurence Edwin Crosby, 89, of Wheeler, passed away on Thursday, November 13, 2014, at his home.

Larry was born at home in the Town of Tainter, on June 28, 1925, to Harlie and Ruth (Williams) Crosby.

He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany throughout his entire tour. On August 17, 1960, Larry married Ione Lindsley in Spring Valley, IL. He worked for 30 years as a blacksmith for the Ford plant in St. Paul, MN, and was known by his co-workers as “Bing”.

Larry loved horses, hobby farming, hunting, travelling, and playing a master game of cribbage. He will be remembered for his good sense of humor and missed by all who knew him.

Larry is survived by his two sons, Jim (Jan) Link and Terry Crosby; two daughters, Linda Crosby and Mary (Jeffrey) Hotter; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; sister, Elsie McIntyre; several nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends and special caregiver, Carol Talmage.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Ione; son, Kenny Link; grandson, Scott Link; granddaughter, Jodi Anderson; two sisters, Luella Grogan and Alice Williams; and his dog, Micky.

Per Larry’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service.  Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, November 15, 2014, at the Hay River Township Cemetery in Wheeler, WI.
