CATHERINE A. EVENSON

Catherine A. Evenson, age 89, of Boyceville, WI passed away Wednesday, October 29, 2014 at American Lutheran Home in Menomonie.

The former Catherine Brown was born Nov. 25, 1924 in Clear Lake, WI. She was the daughter of Herbert Roy and Molly (Schuna) Brown. She graduated from Clear Lake High School in 1943. After graduation she worked as a secretary at the Central Cooperative Livestock Commission in South St. Paul, MN and that is where she met her husband.

On May 4, 1946 Catherine married Morris R. Evenson at the United Methodist Church in Boyceville.

Catherine was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Boyceville and was a member of the Harmon-Harris American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed genealogy, gardening, sewing and baking and she loved caring for her family.

Catherine is survived by her seven children: Shellayne Nelson of Boyceville, WI, Betty (Dan) Prestebak of Menomonie, WI, Cindy (John) Humpal of Wheeler, WI, Gary (Joy) Evenson of Boyceville, WI, Gail (Steve) Kothlow of Menomonie, WI, James (Lori) Evenson of Wheeler, WI and Chris Evenson of Boyceville WI; 21 grandchildren: Julie Nelson, Becky Nelson, John (Marie) Genrich, Troy Sorenson, Tara (Chris) Cunningham, Lucas (Rochelle) Hastay, Heather (Matt) Rubusch, Bruce (Lisa) Freeland, Morgan (Scott) Sather, Gary Evenson Jr., Ryan Evenson, Natalie (Nick) Manor, Joel (Terri) Dillon, Hope (Rick) Burgraff, Heidi (Jeremy) Schadow, Erica Kothlow, Heather (Jeff) Kahler, Joshua (Stacy) Evenson, Corrie (Chevy) Thompson, Tiffani (Travis) Moug and Heather Rott; 39 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; a sister-in-law Annabelle (Orrie) Brettingen of Hudson; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Morris; son-in-law Edward Nelson; three sisters, Helen, Molly and Margaret; one brother Charles; and three grandchildren, Melissa, Kathleen and Donnie.

Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 4, 2014 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Boyceville, with Pastor Brad Peterson officiating. Burial will be in Tiffany Cemetery, Boyceville, WI. Visitation wasone hour prior to services at the church on Tuesday. Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie is serving the family.
