Betty Lou Borofka, 72, of 815 Rand St., Chippewa Falls, died Thursday, September 11, 2014 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Chippewa Falls.

Betty Lou was born July 31, 1942 in Eau Claire, the daughter of Howard and Olga (Zich) Bates.

On December 28, 1963, Betty Lou married Thomas Borofka at St. John’s the Baptist Church in the town of Cooks Valley. Betty Lou worked as a CNA for many years and was a member of Notre Dame Church.

Betty Lou is survived by one son, Lee (Carrie) Borofka of Green Bay; one daughter, Lou (Tim) Tozer of Chippewa Falls; three brothers, Ernest (Geri) Bates, David (Joyce) Bates and Lee (Mary) Bates all of Colfax; two sisters, Beatrice (Ted) Larson of Altoona and Margaret (Clyde) Kerr of Panama City, Florida; and three grandchildren, Jalen and Peyton Tozer and Lincoln Borofka.

Betty Lou was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas; and her parents.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, September 16 at Notre Dame Church in Chippewa Falls. Rev. Msgr. Mark Pierce will be celebrant of the funeral Mass. Burial of cremains will be in Evergreen Cemetery in the town of Colfax at a later date.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, September 15 and until 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Horan Funeral Home in Chippewa Falls. The ladies of Notre Dame will recite the rosary at 4 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
