Please help West CAP during this year’s Feed My People Food Bank Challenge during the 6 week period of September 17th-October 29th. For every dollar raised up to $5,000, West CAP food Pantry will receive 5,000 lbs. in free food that will be given out to local families in both the Boyceville and Glenwood City School Districts.
One event happening during this time period to help us reach our goal of raising $5,000 will be the annual BHS vs. GCHS “Food Fight Challenge” on October 3rd. Please bring non-perishable foods and monetary donations to this game to not only support your high school football team of choice, but to help the food pantry reach our goal. You also can drop food/monetary donations off at either the Glenwood City or Boyceville West CAP offices prior to the game and just mention which school gets your support during this annual fundraiser.
Another exciting event being planned for October 12th is a spaghetti feed and benefit concert which will be hosted at Trinity Lutheran Church in Boyceville. This event is being sponsored by the generosity of the local Ministerial Association that will be providing the meal prior to the concert. Dinner starts at 5:00 p.m. and freewill donations will be accepted for the meal and at the conclusion of the concert. At 6:30 p.m. Trinity’s Men’s Choir will open up the concert by sharing some of their renowned tunes and introducing the feature band “Cornerstone”. Everyone in attendance will have their names put into a drawing and the winner will be offered a free concert at their local church. This fundraiser is supported by Thrivent Action Team resources.
Your help is needed to reach West CAP’s Food Pantry goal during the Feed My People food challenge. Your dollars allow us to purchase food items through the food bank at $.14 cents per pound or less. This means that every dollar raised makes a difference! If you are unable to attend one of the events and would like to send a monetary donation please send it to West CAP, Inc. P.O. Box 308, Glenwood City, WI 54013 and mention “Food Challenge” on your donation. If you should have any questions or would like to volunteer at the food pantry please contact Melissa J. Larson, Food Access and Resource Coordinator at 715-977-1191.
