BOYCEVILLE – The big day of events for the Centennial Celebration is Saturday, September 13 with a Homecoming parade down Main Street at 10:00 a.m. Then ongoing from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. will be a tailgate party at the football field.
Starting at 11:00 a.m. there will be tours at Tiffany Creek Elementary that will include display boards with pictures and information about the past rural schoolhouses.
There will also be activities for children to play like potato sack races, three legged race, bubble blowing, stilts, tug of war, hop scotch and jump rope.
The varsity football game against Rosholt will then be at 1:30 p.m. The admission to this game is free.
There will be an introduction of the Homecoming court at halftime and the alumni are also invited to participate with the band.
Following the game from 4-6:00 p.m. there will be a reception in the High School/Middle School Commons as well as an open house to the school building with tours given.
Also after the game, a large display of school history from the beginning in the 1800s through today will be inside the High School gymnasium.
That evening starting at 8:00 p.m. students are invited to the gymatorium for the homecoming dance. This year’s dance will be a formal.
The school wide celebration will officially begin on Thursday (Sept. 11) with a Middle School football game against St. Croix Central at 5:00 p.m. Also at that time, the volleyball team will be hosting a quad against Amery, Hayward and Glenwood City.
Then on Friday, there will be a homecoming pep rally in the High School gym starting at 2:00 p.m.
That evening, the annual Powder Puff football games will be played starting at 6:00 p.m. and a bonfire following.
Centennial Celebration T-shirts are available in the high school office and will also be available for purchase at the open houses for $10.
