BETTY ANN (JENSON) IVERSON

Betty Ann (Jenson) Iverson passed from her beautiful garden on earth to the eternal garden of life on August 26, 2014.

She was born on June 24, 1930 to Guy and Minnie (Myran) Jenson in Sand Creek, WI. Betty graduated from Colfax High School in 1949 and married her high school sweetheart David James Iverson, on July 21, 1951. They lived in Colfax, eventually moving to Monroe in 1965.

Betty was employed as the food service manager for Monroe Public Schools for 18 years, retiring in 1995. She also served as State Legislative Chairman for the Wisconsin School Food Service.

Betty truly loved caring for and giving to others. She enriched the lives of those around her with her selfless generosity, strength and patience. She nurtured her life’s garden as a loving wife, mom and grandma. She would cook, bake, craft, create, sew or patch anything, all with love and a smile!

She is survived by her devoted husband of 63 years, David; her loving families: Denise and Allynn Gertsch; Kaye and Brian Larson and their children, Sara and Derek; Lana and Bob Christoffel and their children, David, Greg and Katie; Jim and Anne Iverson and their children, Elizabeth and Erik; Rita and Gary Vetterli and their children, Kirsten and Hannah; Curt and Kris Iverson and their children, Dane and Cade; and a daughter of her heart, Dawneen Hall; three sisters: Margaret Christianson, Gladys Knutson and Laila Melgaard; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Ivan and Audrey Iverson; many nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, a sister-in-law, brothers-in-law and two nieces.

Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 30, 2014 at Grace Lutheran Church, with Pastor John Tabaka officiating. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery. A visitation was held Friday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Shriner Hager Gohlke Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Betty’s name.
